The Regenactiv fabric of the Muvu Itaca mask has demonstrated* a bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) of ≥ 95% in resting position (according to EN 14683:2019+AC:2019).

This important data provided by the analysis carried out by the Aitex Textile Research Institute places this mask in the comparable range for the Type I mask classification regulations, endorsing it to be used as a tool for reducing the risk of the virus being spread.

Professional use

For health-care professionals, this mask is designed to avoid direct contact between PPE and skin, preventing possible skin injuries caused by prolonged use of this protective equipment. Furthermore, in the event of any skin integrity impairment, the powerful action of the Regenactiv fabric promotes healing of the skin barrier.

General population use

Given the current recommendation from who regarding the daily use of masks, Muvu Itaca is a great alternative for a number of reasons, the most important of which being its capacity for reuse, after being washed in a domestic washing machine at 60ºC. As such, in addition to being a recommended protection tool, this makes it the most sustainable and durable alternative (Muvu has certified the quality of its fabric for up to 135 washes).

*The functionality requirement for surgical masks is established in EN 14683:2019+AC:2019. According to this measurement, surgical masks are classified into three types: Type I(≥95), type II (≥98) and type IIR (≥ 98).
